Whether you want to add graphics to your blog or create your own advertising banners, you can find free online tools that allow you to do so. Here is a selection:
BannerFans Create banners with no banner site branding. Upload your own background image or choose a background effect. Multiple fonts and colors to choose from. Examples of banners that I made myself:
TE Toolbox – A whole suite of tools to help you with your advertising. You can create banners, banner rotators and splash and squeeze pages (with optional speech or sounds). Other benefits and tools include : affiliate commissions, statistics, thank you ad rotator, and a Downline Builder. Full signup and click tracking allows you to monitor which pages and ads bring the best results.
CoolText - A free easy graphics creator for making logos and buttons and text images such as website headers. Use plain colors, gradients or image backgrounds for your fonts or buttons. You can also download any of the fonts to install to your computer.
FlamingText You can generate logos, buttons and banners by editing a large range of pre-made images or you can start from scratch and create your own. There is a wide selection of fonts, background colors and patterns available to choose from.
Instant Banner Creator Easily create professional looking banner rotators. The site will host your banners for free or you can copy the html code to your own website. An upgrade option is available which offers more choices and there is an affiliate program. You can also make buttons, headers, footers and peel ads. These are all very simple to create.
BlinkWeb A webpage builder with drag and drop features. No web coding knowledge is needed. You can choose from a selection of templates, add text and upload images. This online tool can be used for creating your own splash pages.

Personally, I am not very creative so I admire those who are able to create their own banners/graphics. But, many of these tools that you mention are so easy to use that even I could do it (and have done so). These are some great examples of resources that are available – and for those who publish sites, graphics are important because it helps break up the content AND gives it an aesthetic appeal. Thanks for posting this!
